Pano is created after processing within Matterport Workshop and can be downloaded for use in a wide variety of marketing and presentation applications.
Because Panos are image files rather than navigable scans, they contain no spatial or depth information.
What is a Pano?
A Pano is:
- A 360-degree panoramic image
- Generated from an existing 3D Scan
- Created in Matterport Workshop
- Available immediately after processing
- Downloadable an unlimited number of times
Unlike a Matterport model, a downloaded Pano is simply an image file.
Creating a Pano
- Open the model in Matterport Workshop.
- Navigate to the required location.
- Select the 3D Scan that provides the best viewpoint.
- Open the Pano export option.
- Generate the panoramic image.
- Download the completed Pano.
There is no limit to the number of Panos that can be created from a model.
Understanding the Limitations
A downloaded Pano contains:
- High-quality panoramic imagery
It does not contain:
- LiDAR data
- Depth information
- Measurements
- Navigation
- Dollhouse View
- Floorplan View
It is an image rather than a digital twin.

Please note that standard downloaded Panos are supplied at a lower resolution than the original imagery.
Facebook 360 Images
Facebook recognises the embedded panoramic metadata within a Pano.
When uploaded correctly:
- Users can rotate the image
- Mobile users can move their phone to explore the scene
- The image attracts significantly more attention than a conventional photograph
This makes Panos particularly effective for marketing and promotional content.
Full Resolution Panos
Business and Enterprise subscriptions provide access to Full Resolution (4K) Panospheres.
These offer significantly higher image quality for:
